"The white cube is never truly neutral or free from history but rather built on it. The history that resist the timelessness. Construction site as a metaphor for shifting time, a transformation from history to polished, from process to obscured. it is a phase as a in between state, a bridge or transition between past and present. The museum is not just a passive space but an active participant in rewriting art narratives. Pointing that also there is a similarity between two phases that they have both responsibility to decide what is going to carried forward and what is erased."

Das Programm Construction on Site zeigt eine Reihe von Filmen, die während der Sanierung des mumok im Frühjahr 2024 entstanden sind. Der Umbau diente dabei als Anschauungsmaterial, um Räume als kollektive Konstrukte sichtbar und erfahrbar zu machen. Fragestellungen zum Verhältnis von Körper zu Raum oder zur Produktion und Dekonstruktion einer (kulturellen) Institution waren dabei der Ausgangspunkt performativer Handlungen und filmischer Annäherungen.
